Sweet Sixteen!

Woo Hoo! We are now sixteen weeks and one day!! Exactly three weeks from finding out the sex of our sweet baby! I had another checkup about two weeks ago and everything still sounded good! Our doctor thinks because the heart rate has been on the higher side the whole time that we may have a little girl on our hands! The heart rate has never been lower than 158! :) I thought that when women got pregnant they got several ultrasounds throughout their pregnancy, but in reality, my doctor only does them if necessary (which is good, I like that she's conservative!). However, I do wish I could see how much bigger the little one has gotten over the last 10 weeks since our last ultrasound! That will come soon enough, though!

*Size of Baby~ this week, Baby Kinard is 3 to 5 oz. and as long as 4 to 5 inches!
*What Baby Kinard is Up To~ This week, he/she is working on strengthening back muscles, and is now sporting eyes complete with little eyebrows and adorable eyelashes!  The baby is now able to perceive some light! The tiny ears are also now in the right spot! The baby is also beginning to feel touch, and may even squirm around when it feels you poke your belly.... I think I have felt that a few times!!!
*Movement~ Speaking of squirming, I do believe I have felt a few of what they call "flutters!" I would describe it as almost like a little "fuzzy" feeling inside, like something is just lightly tickling you! I love it! Can't wait for the bigger jabs!!
*Symptoms~ Thankfully, all those first trimester crazy things that happened seem to have stopped! Knock on wood! I am feeling more energized and not nearly as nauseaus anymore! I still am nauseated when I wake up but that's probably because I take my prenatal vitamin before bed :) Otherwise, the main thing I'm experiencing is FREQUENT trips to pee! It is constant almost!! I feel like the baby is just sitting right on my bladder and not budging, haha!
*Cravings~ I am still craving the fruits and veggies! And my favorite thing to eat is the Chick-Fil-A southwest grilled chicken salad with fat-free honey mustard dressing! I could eat it everyday, but I would be broke, haha! I also am loving the "typical" pickles! It was hilarious because the other night at work I was working with my coworker who is 31 weeks pregnant and we were both eating fried pickles with ranch dressing and a chocolate milkshake on the side!! WOW, we got some stares!! :)
*Sleep~ I sleep really well usually, if you don't count the waking up about 2-3 times to pee! Otherwise, I am now having to sleep on my sides because if I lay on my stomach, it feels like I'm laying on a little ball! ha!
*Total Weight Gain/Loss~ As of two weeks ago, my weight was EXACTLY the same as my starting weight. So I'm happy with that!! Though I feel I've probably gained about a pound since the appointment!
*Maternity Clothes~ I bought my first pair of maternity jean capris this week! They are so adorable, I was in love when I put them on. Not to mention how COMFY they are!!!! Thanks to my sweet sis-in-law who helped me out with the thoughtful gift card she sent me!! xo! Otherwise, still wearing regular jeans too (low rise) and regular shirts. I definitely have a baby bump, it's low right now!
*What I Miss~ sleeping on my tummy, eating as much tuna as I want (the doctor really instructs that it should be limited or avoided), and I'm not going to lie, I miss my occassional glass of wine after a long night at work or just when socializing and relaxing with the hubs!! But it is ALL worth it!
*Best Moment This Week~ when the hubs and I were trying to find the heartbeat this week with my stethescope, and I did find it for a few seconds!! I can't wait till we can really hear it and find it easier! Also feeling the first little flutters was amazing!!!
*Looking Forward To~ finding out the sex on the 29th, three weeks from today!!!!

***I am having Ryan take a picture of me tonight before we go grab some dinner, these pretty pink azaleas are in full bloom right in front of our front door and they are too cute not to take a picture by! No worries, the FIRST baby bump pic will be up SOON!!! :)
